All-time tourist record was broken in Muğla

The highest number of tourists of all time came to Muğla, which has become a center of attraction for both foreign and domestic tourists with its famous tourist districts such as Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye and Datça, in 2014. There were 3 million 302 thousand 688 foreign tourist arrivals in the 12-month period of 2014. While the foreign tourist record in Muğla’s history was broken in the first 10 months of 2023, this figure is expected to reach 3 million 400 by the end of the year.

43 percent of incoming foreign tourists are British

Among the foreign tourists who came to Muğla in 10 months, British tourists took the first place. Among the foreign tourists coming to Muğla, England ranked in the top five with 1 million 421 thousand 033 people. There were 389 thousand 228 foreign tourist arrivals from the Russian Federation, 221 thousand 283 from Germany, 220 thousand 073 from Poland and 89 thousand 404 from the Netherlands, respectively. The British account for 43 percent of incoming foreign tourists.

1 million 771 thousand 455 foreign tourist arrivals from Milas-Bodrum and Dalaman Airports

Of the tourists coming to Muğla, one of the rare provinces with two international airports in Turkey, 1 million 771 thousand 455 entered from Dalaman Airport and 928 thousand 993 from Milas-Bodrum Airport. A total of 2 million 700 thousand 448 foreign tourists entered from two international airports. 636 thousand 356 foreign tourists entered from 10 Maritime Customs ports.
