80 thousand visitors daily to Amasra, the pearl of the Black Sea! Here are the most visited places

Amasra district of Bartın, the shining star of the Black Sea in tourism, hosted hundreds of thousands of people from different regions of Turkey during the 9-day holiday period. The district with a population of 6 thousand, which has returned to normal in terms of human density, has started preparations for the new season due to the warm temperatures. In the district where the Astoria Grande ship carrying Russian tourists is expected to arrive in the coming period, preparations are being made for the month of June, when Eid al-Adha and schools will be on holiday.

Stating that 80 thousand people were served daily during the holiday in the district, Mayor Recai Çakır said, „The holiday was enjoyable for our Amasra, Çeşmi Cihan, and the tourism capital of the Western Black Sea.

We anticipated that we would receive a heavy influx of visitors during the holiday. Preparations are complete to ensure that the holiday is productive and enjoyable. The weather was nice too. We have turned into a district that exceeds 22 thousand vehicles during the day and serves 80 thousand people daily. „As you know, our population is 6 thousand,“ he said.

Mayor Yüksel explained the places most visited by visitors as follows;

“Amasra is a very lucky place, that’s why it is the apple of the world’s eye. We have a serious historical infrastructure. Our Amasra castle is our cultural asset that allows us to be included in the Unesco temporary heritage list. Again, our only Roman monument in Anatolia, Kuşkayası Yol. Our natural harbor, which is a first-degree archaeological site and deserves the name Çeşm-i Cihan, is the small harbor. Our Kaleiçi Boztepe historical regions and the breakwater region connected to the mainland by the Kemere bridge were also flooded with visitors. „In Amasra, nature sports, the sea, history, gastronomy, namely our fish and salad, are our touristic values ​​that attract attention.“

Preparations have begun

Stating that they have started preparations for the new season, Mayor Çakır said, „Although the holiday was limited, we had to send off some of our citizens without seeing Amasra. For this reason, our preparations continue for the coming days. „I would like to thank all public, institutional and municipal employees who made the holiday a productive one for both our citizens and our visitors,“ he said.

Tourism diversity will also increase

Mayor Çınar noted that they continue to work to diversify tourism in the district and said, „We are working intensively with the local government, the provincial organization of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the civil administration to diversify tourism in Amasra. Even though the cruise tours that start in our region do not coincide with the holiday, they constitute an important tourism diversity. „The Kazıklı pier and marina will also be opened to tourism,“ he said.
