Will KYK dormitories be opened? Statement from Minister Kasapoğlu

Minister Kasapoğlu’s statements are as follows:

The earthquake process and, of course, the effects of the earthquake, in this sense, I believe that this month will be an opportunity for our entire country to heal the wounds for our citizens affected by the earthquake.

As of February 6, the earthquakes we have experienced one after the other, unfortunately, are an earthquake process that causes very, very big effects. It is a process in which all possibilities have been put forward as a state, under the leadership of our President, from the first moment of the earthquake. However, of course, it is a very strong example of solidarity of our nation, civil society, state, nation.

The mobilization for housing started from the very first moment. Housing began to rise, on the other hand, steps towards the normal flow of life began to be taken into action one by one.

Both the public and the civil society have mobilized from the first moment of the earthquake. In this process, like other ministries, we, as GSB, laid out our entire infrastructure for the earthquake process. Thankfully, we have made progress in providing strong support. We have allocated all of our institutional capacity to the needs of the earthquake zone. Every facility belonging to our Ministry, from halls, fields, pools to tennis courts, was allocated to heal the wounds of the earthquake. At present, efforts have been initiated both for the efforts of more than 70 thousand of our friends and for the management of the process in this sense for the service of thousands of our facilities, especially in the earthquake zone.

In this process, our ministry dormitories, like the other facilities of our ministry, have been put into the service of our nation as of now. It continues to work for both shelter and social work.

We have commissioned thousands of new capacities this year. Our dormitories continue on their way as the most widespread Dormitory infrastructure in the world as a model. We have made our dormitories at the disposal of the nation in order to prevent victimization due to earthquakes, including the provinces outside the earthquake zone, as well as the contribution to the process of the dormitory during the pandemic process, the contributions in previous disasters, and the provinces outside the earthquake zone.
