Uzbekistan and India Sign Healthcare Cooperation Contracts at Health Forum in Tashkent

Tashkent recently hosted a Health Forum between Uzbekistan and India, which resulted in the signing of contracts on cooperation in the field of healthcare. The forum was attended by representatives of the health authorities of the two countries, the diplomatic corps, leading private medical centers in India and heads of large pharmaceutical companies.

The event highlighted the fact that this year, on the basis of a public-private partnership with Indian company Nephrocare Health, Uzbekistan will launch hemodialysis centers for 150 beds in Nukus and 250 beds in Bagat and Urgench districts. A day before the forum, Tashkent also launched a hemodialysis center for 160 beds.

The total investment in these projects amounted to $12 million. In addition, over 100 memorandums and contracts worth $300 million were signed with Indian partners during the forum.

The healthcare cooperation agreements signed at the forum will strengthen the partnership between the two countries and contribute to the development of the healthcare sector in Uzbekistan.
