Ustel: The Turkish Cypriot people will surely succeed in entering not only European but also all world markets.

During the visit, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel visited the facilities of Gülgün Süt Ürünleri and received information about the process from the authorities.

Making a statement during the visit, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel; “Increasing the production standards of all industrial establishments in our country and obtaining food safety certificates for our food producing companies are extremely important not only for our exports, but also for our people to reach quality products. We will be behind the efforts made to ensure that our people use quality products, consume healthy food, and that the quality products we produce find the value and place they deserve in the world market, as we did yesterday.”

Expressing his views on the Halloumi process, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel said, “Both as the Prime Ministry and the EU Coordination Center affiliated to the Prime Ministry, we have been involved in this process since the first day it started. We have prevented many erroneous attitudes that have arisen with the work we have done. The process is still not exactly where we want it to be. But this is a first step. Our work continues. I believe that the Turkish Cypriot people, as an equally sovereign people living in these lands, will one day succeed in entering not only European but also all world markets. Embargoes are not humane or acceptable, regardless of who applied them. Despite all the embargoes imposed on the Turkish Cypriot people and their producers, our producers have proven once again with this quality production that they do not deserve this embargo.”

Congratulating Gülgün Dairy Products for the certificate they received, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel wished success to all our other companies in their certification process.
