SSS Arrests Gold Coin Sellers for $145,000 in Tashkent Region

Two citizens have been detained in Uzbekistan after attempting to sell two gold coins from 1876. The coins, with a total weight of 76.2 grams and an inscription reading “Empress Maria Feodorovna,” were being offered for $145,000. The State Security Service and the Kibray district department of the Prosecutor General’s Office detained the individuals with physical evidence while they were in the process of selling the coins. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 177 of the Criminal Code for the illegal acquisition or sale of currency values, and investigative actions are underway.
