Police arrest suspect in rape of underage girl

“We inform you that Sherzod Umarov, who is wanted by the Namangan regional police department, was found on April 12 this year in the basement of a residential building located along Uzbekiston street in the city of Namangan,” the report reads.
A measure of restraint in the form of detention was applied against the detainee.
It should be recalled that earlier police officers tried to detain a 34-year-old man who is suspected of raping an underage girl. During 15 years, he was prosecuted six times. To detain the man, the special forces climbed onto the roof, but the women, who raised a fuss, helped him escape.
The 34-year-old man was previously convicted under the following articles of the Criminal Code:
• December 2006 – Article 277 (hooliganism);
• May 2007 – Article 169 (theft);
• September 2008 – Article 165 (extortion);
• May 2013 – Articles 118 (rape), 119 (forcible satisfaction of a sexual need in an unnatural form), 127 (engaging a minor in antisocial behavior), 138 (forcible unlawful confinement), 164 (robbery), 166 (robbery) and 277 (hooliganism);
• April 2021 – Article 104 (intentional grievous bodily harm).
