US Air National Guard member Jack Teixeira has been charged with two counts of unauthorized possession and sharing of classified documents. Teixeira allegedly leaked confidential military information on social media, including potential weaknesses in Ukraine’s defense against Russia and the number of UK special forces allegedly active in the region. The 21-year-old national guard, who had been leaking documents since December, was working on a highly classified system and had undergone meticulous security screening prior to being given the assignment. In a hearing at the Massachusetts District Court, Teixeira did not make an official defense and was ordered to remain in detention until April 19.
