Murder in Ümraniye: Released after 10 months, the deceased young man’s mother rebelled

Batuhan Kurt (21), who left the house to go to work in Ümraniye on March 19, 2022, was attacked with a knife and died. Hasan Göksu, the father of his ex-girlfriend, was arrested as part of the investigation into the murder of Batuhan Kurt. The second hearing of the case was held at the Anadolu 16th High Criminal Court. While the detained suspect Hasan Göksu was brought to the hearing from the prison, Batuhan Kurt’s family and the party’s lawyers were present in the hall. After the defendant Hasan Göksu was released on condition of judicial control, Batuhan Kurt’s family and relatives reacted to the decision. Mumine Kurt, the mother of the family, who was removed from the hall with the police intervention, had a nervous breakdown. Mother Mümine Kurt shouted, „Why did you leave my child’s murderer?“ „He killed my child“ for minutes.

“WE HOPE THIS WRONG WILL BE BACKED SHORTLY“

Making a statement after the hearing, Fatih Aydemir, the lawyer of the Kurt family, said, “As you know, a 21-year-old boy named Batuhan Kurt was stabbed to death on March 19, 2022. Batuhan had a hearing today. None of the evidence we requested was collected during the investigation and prosecution phase. Today, it was decided to release the accused. We were hoping that the Police and judicial authorities would go over this incident meticulously and make every effort to find the perpetrator. However, we are in a great disappointment at the point we have reached. As a lawyer, we used all legal means to convey our demands and demanded that these issues be investigated, unfortunately, neither the prosecutor’s office nor the court took these requests into consideration. We are disappointed with this. We hope that this mistake will be corrected as soon as possible,“ he said.

„WE WANT JUSTICE TO FIND IT“

Batuhan Kurt’s older brother, Oğuzhan Kurt, said, “I am Batuhan Kurt’s older brother. The second trial of my brother, who was killed by planning and design, was held today. But we were not spoken in court. Couldn’t find descriptions. Until now, our petitions submitted to the court have not been read. No promise was made when we wanted to read it either. We want justice to be served. „Justice has not been served right now,“ he said.

In the indictment prepared by the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, an aggravated life sentence was demanded for Hasan Göksu, the father of the ex-lover of 21-year-old Batuhan Kurt, who was murdered, on charge of „deliberate murder“.
