
„Monday Marks Start of April 23 Celebrations“

Cyprus prepares to celebrate April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day starting from April 17, according to a statement made by the Ministry of National Education. The celebration activities, gifted to children by Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the opening of Turkish Grand National Assembly will take place on 17, 18, 19, and 23 April. On Sunday, 23 April, the Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu will give a speech on the meaning and importance of the day. The celebration program includes cortege, wreath-laying ceremony, speeches, dance and sports events, and a special holiday event for special education students under the auspices of the Presidency. The celebrations will also include parliamentary general assembly with the agenda of „Children’s Rights“ and ceremonies in various towns and villages of Cyprus.
