The governor of Nurafshan, the administrative center of Tashkent region, Muzaffar Soliev, was dismissed from his position last week by the decision of the city council. At the same time, he was replaced by an acting person. Information about this was confirmed to Kun.uz by Behzod Kabulov, head of the information service of the Tashkent regional administration.
Reportedly, the former governor may be involved in the investigation at the moment. It is said that the reason for this is related to the period he worked as Minister of Housing, Communal Economy. The Prosecutor General’s Office stated that it has no information about this.
Muzaffar Soliev served as Minister of Housing and Communal Services from July 5, 2017 to January 2021. He was fired after a critical CabMin meeting.
On January 15, 2021, he was appointed the governor of Nurafshan.
During his career, Soliev also served as the Deputy Defense Minister for working with personnel.
