The 24-hour ticket is valid all year round for Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, and for all days during school holidays. It will be available for the first time between 6 and 11 April, during the school spring break, Travelo reports.

The Mátra24 ticket grants unlimited travel by train on the Budapest-Keleti-Hatvan-Gyöngyös and Hatvan-Pásztó-Nagybátony line sections within the validity period. You can also travel with it by bus on most Mátra routes within the region. In Gyöngyös and Pásztó, there are transfers from the train to buses to Mátra and vice versa.

The full price of the 24-hour ticket is HUF 3900 (EUR 10.32), and HUF 2600 (EUR 6.88) for those under 26.

In December 2022, MÁV introduced several timetable changes in the region. The Mátra InterRegio has created a new hourly direct rail connection between Budapest and Gyöngyös, Travelo writes. In line with these trains, Volánbus will provide regular bus connections from Gyöngyös to Mátra and Mátraalja. This will make it possible for passengers arriving by train from Budapest to reach the popular mountain hiking resorts more frequently.
