Fire in tanker at gas station in Sultanbeyli

A fire broke out at the gas station on Antalya Street in Orhan Gazi Neighborhood at around 17.00. Allegedly, there was an explosion in the transmission system during the filling process from the gas-laden tanker to the fuel station. The fire broke out with the explosion. Upon the notice, many firefighters, police and medical teams were sent to the scene. As a result of the work of the firefighters, the fire was extinguished before it spread to the tanker part. While the police teams took extensive security measures in the vicinity, the street was closed to traffic. While the cup part of the tanker was completely burned in the fire, the explosion of approximately 25 tons of gas-laden tanker prevented a possible disaster. While there was no loss of life in the fire, the cup part of the tanker became unusable. The moments when the cup part of the tanker was on fire was watched by the people around with a mobile phone camera.

Çetin Bozbay, who heard the sound of an explosion while sitting on the balcony, said, „I had just come home from work and was sitting on the balcony. The gas station is already in front of us. While we were sitting, there was a sudden explosion sound. The house shook with the explosion. All the people came out at once. It was a great danger. We were also very scared. We were very scared. It was a big explosion,“ he said.
