Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu emphasized that only the acceptance of political equality is not enough for a solution on the island, and that the reaffirmation of the sovereign equality of the TRNC, not the societies, is inevitable, and stated that the negotiations with the goal of federation are in the past, never to come back.

Ertuğruloğlu, who criticized AKEL Cyprus Desk Chief Tumazos Çelebis, who said, „If we do not accept political equality, there will be no solution“, said, „It is as if he thinks that he is making a remarkable discourse.“

The Turkish Cypriot people have given you the answer you deserve, but you insist on not perceiving this answer in your world of lies.
The experience we have gained and the lessons we have learned since the 1960s show us that;
